Nuremberg can send cyclists "out into the world", whether on the Pan-European Cycle Route along the Golden Road across the borders, along the Pilgrims' Way or from castle to castle along the Castle Road. Cycle-friendly Nuremberg is an excellent place to explore by bike - either on guided city tours or on your own along the Pegnitz and through the city's green parks.

The area to the west of Nuremberg is characterised by a well-signposted network of cycle routes. Around 1600 kilometres of beautiful routes are marked along rivers, through open countryside and to wonderful historic towns such as Rothenburg ob der Tauber or Dinkelsbühl.
