Susanne Wagner-Kunkel & Sebastian Kunkel - Zirbelstube

My name is Sebastian Kunkel and, together with my wife Susanne Wagner-Kunkel, I run the hotel and restaurant Zirbelstube. After I learned to be a chef at the Gasthaus Rottner, I spent some years in the Black Forest (at the Hotel Restaurant Adler in Lahr) und in Frankfurt am Main (at the Tigerpalast), ro refine my skills.

My wife Susanne became a hotel specialist in Zirndorf and then traveled to Switzerland, where she spent time in St. Moritz/Pontresina (at the Grandhotel Kronenhof) and Davos (at the Morosani Posthotel). We met at the hotel school in Bad Wörishofen and have been together ever since.

At first, we went out to explore the world; first in Switzerland and then in New Zealand. The influence of foreign cultures has not only shaped our personalities, but also helped us expand our culinary skills.

Despite our wonderful and unforgettable time at the other end of the globe, we came back in 2010 to the Zirbelstube, where we both bring our wealth of experience into play. In my kirchen, I value seasonal products and regional quality and the dishes are then refined with international influences. I am happy that my cooking skills have been rewarded with 14 Gault Millau points.
