Tasty Tips from Klaus P. Wünsch

As a fan of the USA, it's a hearty BBQ that Klaus P. Wünsh raves about. But he has other gastronomique tips about Nuremberg which he's happy to share.

How would you describe Nuremberg in three words?

It's just fabulous!

In your opinion, which culinary specialties does Nuremberg have that you can't find in other cities of its type?

Nuremberg offers a wide spectrum of delicacies. In addition to the classic such as "Drei im Weggla" (three in a bun) which you can eat on the run, there are many fine delights which you can experience dining: Whether it's the legendary Schäuferla pork shoulder, fresh Schlachtschüssel (freshly-made sausages served country style) or Franconian sauerbraten. And now-a-days the wide variety in the food truck scene with its many great new foods.

What personal dining tip would you give a tourist who is coming to Nuremberg? Is there something a visitor must try?

Just look at the Foodtrucks Deutschlands App and find the next food truck - in Germany's "secret food truck capital" you'll find plenty of delicious street food to enjoy. And if someone wants to sit down and enjoy, one of my favorites is the "Würzhaus" in the north of Nuremberg. The simple, polished atmosphere is accompanied by a flavor explosion. Honest, fresh and regional.
