Right in the heart of Nuremberg’s Old Town, a special experience awaits: the climb up the Sebald South Tower. As you climb the steps, you’ll embark on a fascinating journey through the history of St Sebald’s Church – and be rewarded at the end with an unrivalled view.
The route takes you across the gallery of the choir of angels and through the medieval church attic, past the largest bell in St Sebald’s, up to the gallery of the south tower at a height of around 50 metres. Once at the top, an impressive panoramic view opens up over the sea of rooftops in Nuremberg, across to the Imperial Castle and far into the surrounding countryside.
During the guided tour, which lasts around an hour, the Sebaldus Tower guides share interesting and fascinating facts about the history of the church’s construction, the significance of Sebaldus Church and the duties of the tower keepers. Experience one of the most beautiful views over Nuremberg’s Old Town. The climb is well worth it!
