Amber Museum: Nuremberg’s sparkling hidden gem In the heart of Nuremberg, a small museum with a big impression awaits you: the Amber Museum. Everything here revolves around nature’s gold. Visitors discover the origin of amber, its fascinating variety of colours, rare inclusions, artistic objects and special pieces of jewellery. One highlight of the collection is Germany’s largest amber, weighing an impressive 12.410 kg. Children, too, can marvel, search and explore, as amber tells stories from a world millions of years old.
The exhibition shows how diverse amber can be: clear, cloudy, honey-coloured, dark and sometimes with traces of early life. Every piece is unique. Ideal for a short, inspiring visit in the city centre, just a few minutes from the Hauptmarkt. In the amber shop you will find handmade jewellery and selected amber pieces
