The former “Dutzendteich” train station on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds, near the Zeppelin Field, was used until 2021 as a restaurant with beer garden and was thereafter offered for sale. The city of Nuremberg purchased the train station and will incorporate it into the design of the learning and encounter place Zeppelin Field and Zeppelin Tribune. The former station is currently not open to the public.

The Development of the Dutzendteich Station
In the immediate vicinity of the Zeppelin Tribune is the former Dutzendteich Station, which was built in 1934 for the arrival and departure of visitors to the Nazi Party Rallies. At this location, there was already a train station from the 1870s, which was replaced by the new structure.
After the Second World War, the structure continued to serve as a train station until 2000 and was afterwards a restaurant.
In 2022, the city of Nuremberg purchased the former station in order to reshape it into an important part of the learning and encounter site Zeppelin Field/Zeppelin Tribune. As an information center for visitors, the station will offer a ticket shop, information about the grounds and an exhibit about the history of the building. Everything on offer will be handicapped accessible and barrier free. Seminar rooms will be used for historical and political education. A newly designed outdoor area will encourage encounters.
A reopening as a service point as part of the learning and encounter place Zeppelin Field is planned for 2027.
