I think you could predict early on that I would be a host in the hotel and restaurant business. Even as a small child I was fascinated by those working in service when my family went to restaurants or on holiday. That's exactly what I wanted to do! When the American TV series HOTEL - which showed the "daily work" of a hotel director and his team -appeared, my mind was made up. I knew that I would someday be a host and hotel director.
To reach that goal, I did an apprenticeship as a hotel specialist. After that, I left Franconia to live and work for a few years in Freiburg, Hamburg and Munich. Since 2012, I've been a hotel director, so my plan did work.
At the end of 2017, my employer asked me if I would like to take over the NH Collection Nuremberg City, one of the nicest hotels in Germany. The decision was easy: I've been back home in Franconia since March 2018. Here, I can practice my trade in the place where I was first inspired to take on this career.
I have the luck that the hotel business is not only my job, but also one of my hobbies. The unique interplay of design and gastronomy in connection with the possibility to meet new people and ideas every day inspires me personally and also forms my home life.
When the hotel doesn't need me, I love to cook, play drums, visit concerts and festivals (Rock im Park in Nuremberg is a tradition) or keep busy with sports. Unfortunately, not as a player, but as a fan of my favorite football club: 1. FC Nürnberg.
