Requirements and guidelines for Overnight Stays

Tourist accommodations (hotels, holiday apartments, guest houses, youth hostels and camping grounds) in Nuremberg may open, as the seven-day-average is stable under 100.

Requirements for a stay in a tourist accommodation:

  • Stable seven-day-average under 100.
  • Guests must show a current negative corona test upon arrival (A less than 24-hour old negative rapid antigen test, a negative self-test or a negative PCR test. The self-test must be performed in front of the owner, operator or a person designated as their agent).
  • The current rate of infection and seven-day-average at the point of origin of a guest is irrelevant. Foreign guests must meet the legal requirements of the regulations required at entry.
  • Gastronomic offerings in tourist accommodations (also indoors) are only permitted for hotel guests and must close at 12 pm.
  • Guests enjoying an overnight stay may use any spa, therapeutic or wellness offering of the accommodation (swimming pools, fitness rooms or solariums, for example).

    Because in Nuremberg the seven-day-average is stable under 100 it is possible to stay overnight as a tourist. Tourist accommodations such as hotels, holiday apartments, guest houses, youth hostels and camping grounds may open for tourists.

    Requirements for a stay in a tourist accommodation:

    • Stable seven-day-average under 100.
    • Guests must show a current negative corona test upon arrival (A less than 24-hour old negative rapid antigen test, a negative self-test or a negative PCR test. The self-test must be performed in front of the owner, operator or a person designated as their agent).

    • Gastronomic offerings in tourist accommodations (also indoors) are only permitted for hotel guests and must close at 10 pm.
    • Guests enjoying an overnight stay may use any spa, therapeutic or wellness offering of the accommodation (swimming pools, fitness rooms or solariums, for example).

    Only guests may be accommodated in a room or apartment only within the existing contact restriction: maximal 10 persons.

    Yes. Gastronomic offerings in hotels and other tourist accommodations are allowed until 12 pm. This is true both in- and outdoors.

    If the seven-day-average climbs over 100 for three days in a row, the reopening and relaxation of will cease two days later, that means on Day 5.That means that accommodations will only be available for necessary and non-tourism uses.

    Guests must show a current negative corona test upon arrival.

    Valid tests include:

    • A less than 24-hour old negative rapid antigen test, a negative self-test or a negative PCR test for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
    • A self-test must be performed in front of the owner, operator or a person designated as their agent. If the self-test produces a positive result, the person must isolate themselves and take a PCR test.

    Tests are not required for:

    • Fully vaccinated (if the last required vaccination took place at least 14 days before arrival)
    • Recovered (if the recovery took place at least 28 days and not more than 6 months before arrival as confirmed by a positive PCR test)Children aged 5 and younger.
