Requirements and guidelines for Overnight Stays

    It is possible to stay overnight as a tourist. Tourist accommodations such as hotels, holiday apartments, guest houses, youth hostels and camping grounds may open for tourists.

    Requirements for a stay in a tourist accommodation:

    • Overnight tourism stays: 2G-Proof (Immunized | Recovered)
    • For mandatory, non-postponable non-tourist accomodations stays: 3G-Plus-Proof (Immunized | Recovered | Tested with PCR) upon arrival and every 72 hours.
    • The current rate of infection and seven-day-average at the point of origin of a guest is irrelevant. Foreign guests must meet the legal requirements of the regulations required at entry.
    • FFP2 mask
    • No restrictions for vaccinated and recovered persons
    • At private gatherings attended by one person who have not been vaccinated or have recovered are only permitted to stay together in public spaces, in privately used rooms and on privately used properties with members of their own household and additionally with two members of another household.

    As of December 28:

    • At private gatherings attended only by persons who are vaccinated or recovered from COVID, a maximum of 10 persons are allowed indoors and outdoors.
    • At private gatherings attended by one person who have not been vaccinated or have recovered are only permitted to stay together in public spaces, in privately used rooms and on privately used properties with members of their own household and additionally with two members of another household.

    Yes, it is permitted to use the fitness and sauna area in a hotel.

    Guests enjoying an overnight stay may use any spa, therapeutic or wellness offering of the accommodation (swimming pools, fitness rooms or solariums, for example). The hotel must have a safety and hygiene plan.

    Yes. Gastronomic offerings in hotels and other tourist accommodations are allowed. This is true both in- and outdoors.

    Guests must show a current negative corona test upon arrival and every 72 hours.

    Valid tests include:

    • A less than 48-hour old negative rapid antigen test, a negative self-test or a negative PCR test or PoC-PCR test for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Corona traffic signal is yellow or red)
    • A less than 24-hour old negativ POC test for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (Corona traffic signal is green)

    Tests are not required for:

    • Fully vaccinated (if the last required vaccination took place at least 14 days before arrival)
    • Recovered (if the recovery took place at least 28 days and not more than 6 months before arrival as confirmed by a positive PCR test)Children aged 5 and younger.
    • Children up to their sixth birthday
    • Students who are subject to regular testing while attending school.
    • Children who are not yet in school

    Yes, every guest need a negative test upon arrival and every 72 hours.
