Zukunftsmusik

Until May 2025

Zukunftsmusik brings new life to the city center around the vacant former Kaufhof building between Königstraße and Pfannenschmiedsgasse with contemporary art and culture. The major new program, initiated and curated by the Project Office for Culture, will consist of several modules from September 2024 until May 2025, repeatedly setting signs for change in public spaces.

Old ideas of use are becoming passé, new ones are being developed and presented. Art and culture are leading the way. Regional and supra-regional players from a wide range of creative disciplines such as art, culture, music, design and architecture will stage events that encourage the public to rethink the city center.

Under the motto ‘Dürer's E-ch-o-o-o meets Zukunftsmusik’, from 2025 it will be shown that artists are still being trained at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Nuremberg. Various formats such as presentations, artist talks and gallery art will fill the old Kaufhof building with life again in April 2025. In May, the building will not only host a programme of the Blaue Nacht, but also an exhibition by the Akademie der Bildenden Künste.
