In June 2019 fans of sacred music are invited to enjoy organ concerts, choirs and symphony performances during the International Organ Week Nuremberg – Musica Sacra. With Folkert Uhde serving as the artistic director for a second year, Nuremberg once again draws friends of organ music from around the world.
The largest event for sacred music in Europe
Called to life in 1951 by church musicians from St. Lorenz and St. Sebald, the International Organ Week Nuremberg – Musica Sacra is today one of the largest and oldest festivals for sacred music in Europe. Every second year, the International Organ Competition of ION takes place during the festival.
