Key facts:

  • former screw factory from the 1920s
  • shows the history of industrialization in Nuremberg and gives insight into the development of work and daily life from then until now
  • the museum owns one of the largest collections of sport memorabilia in Germany, which gives witness to Nuremberg's past as a center of sports
  • in the school museum contained there, one can experience life in a classroom of 1910

A building built as a screw factory during the 1920s now houses the Museum for Industrial Culture, the Motorcycle Museum "Ardie, Mars Co." and the School Museum with a historical classroom on 6,000 m² exhibition space.

Here everything revolves around the history of the industrialization of Nuremberg from the 19th century to the structural changes of the present. The work and everyday life past and present come to life along a "museum street". New additions include the "Technology Revue", a fully functioning museum cinema, or the revolving stage centering on the history of the household appliances, display objects turn into actors and visitors become explorers.

Large and small can get to know the museum in entertaining tours by watching the fascinating demonstrations in the historic pencil workshop and can even lend a hand in the lead typesetting printing workshop.

In the summer the sports camp attracts visitors to try out numerous pieces of sports equipment. In the motorcycle collection the golden age of Nuremberg as a stronghold of bicycle manufacturing comes alive.
