For a few magical days in 1969, a New York dairy farm became the center of the cultural universe. People came from all over the world to celebrate Three Days of Peace and Music at a time when peace was hard to come by. The audience of more than 500.000 that came together created a phenommenon that continues to resonate today. Wodstock was about freedom: the freedom to be yourself in a place of creativity and tolerance.

Elliott Landy picked up his camera to record and document this nation's spiritual awakening through the eyes of the "Woodstock Generation." He was one of the official photographers. Landy became one of the first "music photographers" to be recognized as an "artist."

The exhibition shows you the story of Woodstock and the spirit of this age. More than 160 picture from Elliott Landy will be shown and also unpublished films from the archiv from Radio Bremen. The focus of the exhibition is the illustration of the Woodtstock stage.
