The St Elisabeth Church originally belonged to the Order of German Knights. The modest Gothic chapel was demolished and replaced with an imposing classic building. The 50 metre high dome was damaged during the Second World War and subsequently restored with a new colourful rosette ceiling; the dome is today a feature on the Nuremberg Skyline. The interior of the church dates back to 1902 and is dominated by statues of the twelve apostles.
