Railway Year 2010 in Nuremberg - 175 years of German Railways
Nuremberg is the central venue for Railway Year 2010 becaus it is here that 175 ago, the first German train took to the tracks.
The railwas as the driving force for Germany on its way into mordern times will be the central topic of the exhibition "Die Strecke des Adlers" (The journey of the Adler) in the Museum for Industrial Culture. A show called "Reisen auf der Erde und im Himmel"(Travelling on Earth and in the Sky) in the Nicolaus-Copernicus-Planetarium and in 2010, Nuremberg cultural events of major importance will also take up aspects of railway history.
