Orchestral matters from the city of the Meistersinger

As is fitting for the city of the Meistersinger, the concert landscape in Nuremberg is as lively as ever. The two large orchestras, the Nuremberg Philharmonic State Orchestra and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, dominate the musical calendar. Philharmonic concerts with famous guest soloists, intimate chamber music, crossovers between classical and jazz, Klassik Open Air, Musica Sacra, lunchtime concerts – if you want, you can start your day in Nuremberg with a classical matinee and finish it off with an evening of jazz.

From the symphony concert to silent film music

Nuremberg is in the lucky position of being home to two orchestras of international repute. In the Meistersingerhalle (in German) and in the Serenadenhof, the Nuremberg Philharmonic State Orchestra and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra present their own series of concerts with renowned guest soloists, and during the Klassik Open Air.

Artistic quality and stylistic flexibility - these features represent the trademark of the Nuremberg Symphony. Since its foundation in 1946 the orchestra has been active in all kinds of musical fields: opera, operetta, oratorio, film and in particular the symphonic concert. No matter which genre - it makes music an adventure.
